Does anyone know how the table minimums in Atlantic City work?

I am going to be in Atlantic City area this weekend and wish to stop over sometime when the blackjack tables are down to $10 minimum and that Texas Hold em bonus game is down to a $5 minimum. Do the casinos go by certain times where they increase their minimums? If so what are these schedules and what casinos are the lowest minimums?

Yes casinos will change their minimums based on “traffic”. There may be general patterns, but I don’t beleive they have a set schedule for this. It is up to the management at the time to see how the crowds are.

So the peek times will have higher minimums. The higher class the casino the higher the minimum. So your best chance of lower minimums will be to go to the smaller casinos at off times, such as weekdays and early mornings.

I live in Nevada. Most casinos provide tables with low minimum bids. They also have “high roller” tables with high minimums. They don’t just change the minimums whenever they feel like it. If they have recently lowered the minimums on the low-ball tables, that means that they want to get more people playing those games. They want to attract more people, and in turn, get more money.

If you go to Caesars you will find a ’skywalk’ that takes you to various smaller and less expensive casinos. Many of these will have $5 minimum tables most of the time.

Obviously weekends and Friday nights are when you are likely to see these limits go up. But when I was last there there were still some cheaper casinos that offered low stakes. Plenty of them have that Texas Hold’em bonus game you are talking about.

Just returned from Atlantic City. Some of the blackjack tables were down to $5 but that was during the day. We played at Tropicana the most. But just check them all out
